摘要 |
A controlled study was designed to compare the effectiveness of a single sublingual dose of 0.2 mg buprenorphine with a single intramuscular dose of 50 mg pethidine in the treatment of acute renal colic. Seventy-five patients (55 men and 20 women) were enrolled in this study, 36 patients in the pethidine group and 39 in the buprenorphine group. Effectiveness of the treatment was evaluated by a verbal rating scale (VRS) and visual analogue scale (VAS) at 30 minutes before and after treatment. Our results showed that all patients gainificant pain relief after receiving the given medications (p<0.05), but sublingual buprenorphine had a stonger analgesic effect than intramuscular pethidine (p<0.05). However, a slightly higher incidence of nausea and vomiting was noted in buprenorphine group. In conclusion, sublingual buprenorphine provides a safe, effective and convenient alternative to other narcotics in the treatment of acute renal colic. |
