摘要 |
Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) can be associated with cervical spondylosis. A 53-year old woman with cervical spondylotic myelopathy complained of excessive sweating below the chest, causalgia over the left shoulder, swelling of the left upper extremity and joint stiffness 19 days after the operation. Her physical findings were compatible with a diagnosis of RSD. The pathogenesis of entity remains poorly understood, and multiple treatment choices and modalities have been described. The association of RSD with cervical spine operation has been reported only rarely. With adequate follow-up, she had a satisfactory resolution of symptoms with systemic corticosteroids and stellate ganglion blocks. This remains a rare complication after the operation for cervical spondylosis. RSD should be considered in the differential disgnosis of postoperatively unexplained pain in the ectremities of patients with cervical spondylosis. |
