摘要 |
Malignant stromal tumor (MST) of the small bowel represents about 0.2% of all mailgnant tumors of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, in which the jejunum was the common site. MST arising from the muscular wall of the small intestine projects toward the mucosal aspect and produces ulceration and bleeding if the tumor achieves a large dimension. We herein report an unusual case of jejunal malignant stromal tumor presenting with intermittent lower GI bleeding causing severe arteriovenous shunting based on superior mesenteric artery and postoperative specimen angiogram. Abdominal computed tomogram (CT) revealed a soft tissue density with central necrosis. Grossly, a shunting vessel passing through the tumor mass was also nored. In conclusion, the MST may be misinterpreted as AVM due to the presence of a significant shunting vessel from the feeding artery, and the drain into the vein of the mesentery and can be ruled out by the detection of tumor mass using abdominal CT. |
