摘要 |
Although inguinal hernia gas been recognized as a common complicaion of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), the controversy continues regarding the timing for resumption of CAPD after hernia repair. Previously, temporary hemodialysis was suggested two to four weeks before the re-start of CAPD. However, it inevitably increases the possibility of procedure-related complications. In this study, we present four cases with CAPD resumed without temporary hemodoalysis after Gilbert type III hernia repair. The hernia sac was invaginated and a mesh plug was inserted through the internal ring. In addition, a sheet of mesh graft was placed at the preperitoneal space to avoid future direct herniation. All four patients re-started CAPD on the second postoperative day and no temporary hemodialysis was needed. After a mean follow-up period of eight months, no recurrence was found. |
