摘要	We report a rare case of hepatic C virus-associated liver cirrhosis that developed symptomatic hepatic hydrothorax in the absence of ascites. A diaphragmatic defect was suspected by a Rechnicium-99m macroaggregated serum albumin peritonealscan. The patient had been given a course of intensive medical treatments and repeated thoracentesis for respiratory symptom control, but failed. We concluded that videothoracopic repair of the diaphragmatic defect and talc pleurodesis combined with consistent postoperative medical treatments would be a quick and effective solution.
