摘要 |
Mycotic aneourysms are uncommon but remain one of the most challenging clinical problems for the vascular surgeon. They are associated with high morbidity and mortality, and the clinical signs and symptoms are non specific. Surgical repair by either in situ graft replacement or extra-anatomic reconstruction remains controversial. Here we report the case of an infected infrarenal aortic aneurysms due to salmonellosis treated by aortic resection and extra-anatomic bypass using synthetic graft. We reviewed the pathogenesis, clinical and laboratory characteristics, and treatment of aortitis due to Salmonella. Early diagnosis is the key to successful treatment. This limits the extent of infection and allows intervention before rupture. Prompt surgical resection of the infected aneurysm together with medical therapy is required for successful treatment. |
