Inflammatory pseudotumor of the urogenital tract most frequently involves the
urinary bladder or prostate gland, and inflammatory pseudotumor of the kidney is
rare. A postinfectious or reactive antigenic response has been proposed as the etiology.
We report the case of a male patient who suffered mild left flank pain for one
year. The clinical laboratory diagnosis was within normal limits. Before surgical intervention, the differential diagnosis was found with difficulty by imaging studies, such as ultrasonography, computerized axial tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. The postoperative diagnosis was confirmed by pathological and immunohistochemical examinations. A literature review is also presented. |
