篇名	Giant True Diverticulum of Sigmoid Colon with Component of False Diverticulum: Report of A Case

摘要	Giant colonic diverticulum (GCD) is a rare condition. Most reported cases were of false type and the wall of diverticulum is composed of fibrous tissue rather than smooth muscle layer. True GCD is even rarer and its wall is composed of all layers as in normal colon. We report a 19-year-old mentally retarded female with acute abdomen. At operation, a diverticular mass of the redundant sigmoid colon with size 6 4 4 cm was noted. We performed complete wedge resection of the diverticulum and primary closure of the sigmoid colon. Pathology showed it was a true diverticulum with chronic inflammation, a component of false diverticulum of 1 cm was also noted at its tip . Postoperative course was smooth and the patient was discharged from our hospital after 2 weeks.
