摘要
Metastatic tonsillar cancer is rare. A 63 year-old male patient was a victim of cecal cancer at pathological stage III (T3N1M0). He received right hemicolectomy and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy with flurouracil and leucovorin. Solitary right lung metastasis was noted one year after the initial operation. Right upper lobectomy was conducted. Pathology revealed metastatic adenocarcinoma without LN metastasis. The histological picture was similar to his previous cecal cancer.
Postoperative chemotherapy was thus shifted to combined irinotecan formula. Unfortunately, a tonsillar tumor was noted 6 months later. Tonsillar biopsy showed metastatic adenocarcinoma. He received right tonsillectomy and modified radical neck LN dissection. Although colon cancer with tonsillar metastasis is rare, its occurrence can not be ruled out. Special caution must be paid for this peculiar metastasis and early diagnosis could be made by careful medical examination.
