Primary intraosseous meningioma of the skull is an uncommon disease. It accounts
for 0.5 to 1 percent of all meningiomas and is often confused with primary bone
tumor of the skull. We report a case of a 77-year-old Taiwanese women with a rare primary intraosseous meningioma. The tumor was located in the right
frontoparietal region, involving the coronal suture. The tumor was excised
completely. The final pathological diagnosis determined that the tumor was a
meningioma. Several cases reported in the past literature are reviewed and the
possible pathogenesis of the tumor is discussed.
