摘要 |
Dialysis-related amyloidosis is a complication in long-term hemodialysis, and classically includes carpal tunnel syndrome, tenosynovitis, large joint arthropathy and bone cyst. This paper presented two patients who had both their shoulder and hip joint involved in amyloidosis and described the courses and radiograms. The first patient had left femoral neck pathological fracture and recevied bipolar hemiarthroplasty and amyloidosis was diagnosed by the radiologist. The second patient presented with severe hip pain and the diagnosis of amyloidosis was proved by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study. Decompression operation was performed first on the right hip joint and then on the left shoulder joint.
Confirmed diagnosis depended on the pathological specimen with Congo Red stain.
The treatment options will be discussed. |
