摘要 |
The literature contains numerous reports of mucinous cystadenomas of the
appendix, ovary, and pancreas. However, thus far, there are no reports on lesions of
the cecum. We therefore report the case of a 48-year-old female who was admitted to
our gynecology department because of a painless pelvic mass found incidentally by
sonography at a district hospital. The pelvic mass measured approximately 13.9x
8.3x8.0 cm, and it contained septa and heterogeneous cysts.
The patient agreed to undergo an exploratory laparotomy with a complete en bloc
resection of the tumor. The resection proceeded smoothly, and a histological
examination revealed a mucinous cystadenoma that had originated in the cecum.
The patient's recovery was uneventful, and she was discharged seven days after the
operation. The one-year follow up at our OPD revealed no tumor recurrence, and
she was in good condition. |
