摘要
Secretory meningioma is a relatively rare histologic subtype of meningioma.
Accurate diagnosis and differentiation from other more aggressive tumors are
important to avoid unnecessary radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We describe a 58-
year-old woman who presented with a brain tumor shown by a positron emission
tomography (PET) scan during health examination. Magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) revealed a right parasagittal tumor without obvious peritumoral edema.
After tumor excision, histopathologic examination showed a secretory meningioma
characterized by epithelial and secretory differentiation of meningothelial cells with
production of numerous round-to-oval hyaline inclusions. The postoperative course
was smooth.
