摘要 |
Huge gastric lipomas rarely manifest as hypovolemic shock. We report a 69-year-old
man who was admitted to our emergency room because of a two-day history of tarry
stool. Emergency upper gastrointestinal endoscope revealed two masses measuring 9
cm 7 cm 5 cm and 1.5 cm 1.5 cm 1.5 cm, respectively, with smooth surface
and ulcerative changes at the base, located on the posterior wall of the stomach
body. Gastrointestinal stromal tumor or malignancy was suspected pre-operatively.
Open surgery with subtotal gastrectomy + Billroth II gastrojejunostomy was
performed because the possibility of rebleeding and malignant could not be rule out.
Pathological examination disclosed a bleeding ulcerated submucosal lipoma. Herein,
we report a case of a huge gastric lipoma presenting as hemorrhagic shock and
review the literature regarding this relatively rare tumor. |
