摘要 Splenic inflammatory pseudotumor is an extremely rare benign tumor. This report concerns a case in a 52-year-old woman who was encountered in the Surgical Clinic. The tumor was detected by ultrasonography, computer tomography, and angiography. Because the lesion occurred as a primary splenic tumor and angiography revealed a relatively hypervascular mass, angiosarcoma was initially suspected. Total splenectomy, including distal pancreatectomy, was performed. The removed spleen revealed the presence of a firm, circumscribed mass, somethat lobulated, with disclosed focal necrosis and hemorrhage; the microscopic features were unequivocally inflammatory and benign. Final diagnosis was made after histologic study. This patient recovered smoothly after operation and has been well during a clinical follow-up of one year.
