摘要
Different types of materials are currently used in order to repair cranial defect. Each method possesses advantages and disadvantages. The most common complication of cranioplasty is late infection and there are many risk factors of infection. The mean onset of infection may be as early as 10 days after surgery, as late as 42 months. We report a diabetic case with wound infection which occurred 25 years after cranioplasty using stainless steel mesh. To the best of our knowledge, such infection has never been reported to occur so long after the surgery.
