摘要 |
Preoperative C-reactive protein (CRP) was evaluated in 62 patients reveiving laparotomy for suspected acute appendicitis. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the serum CRP in acute appendicitis were 78.4%, 18.2%, 67.7%, +o. -0.15 respectively. Both the incidence of increased CRP levels levels of CRP concentration are related to the severity of acute appendicitis. Neither the sensitivity nor the specificity of increased CRP in appendicitis is high. Our results suggested that CRP is not a diagnostic test for acute appendicitis, and the role of CRP in diagnosis of appendicitis still needs further study. |
