摘要	In reconstruction of small to medium lower leg and foot defect, a thin fasciocutaneous island flap with a long pedicle would match the aesthetic and functional need. We had performed eight distally based superficial sural artery flap. From our experience, we found this flap to be a useful tool in lower leg and foot reconstruction surgery. Also we had one case with proximal necrosis and one with complete necrosis which might be related to the poor venous return of the lower limb.
