摘要	A successful use of Vieryl mesh for repairing of the traumatic shattered kidney in a 2-year-old girl is reported. This girl suffered from blunt abdominal injury with right shattered kidney and urine extravasation following a traffic accident. Exploratory laparotomy was performed with debridement of the shattered kidney and Vieryl mesh was used to hold the injured kidney 2 days after the accident. This material serves as a good alternative for the treatment of injured kidney due to its easy application and pre-servation of the kidney function. This is a case description of Vicryl mesh for repairing the traumatic shattered kidney, with review of the previous literature.
