In most instances, following their accidental ingestion, fish bones are likely to be embedded in the oral cavity, oropharynx, laryngopharynx, or esophagus. Documented anorectal injuries caused by ingested fish bones are very rare. This study reports an additional example of such an event, where the early removal of the offending bone resulted in rapid resolution of symptoms and minimal subsequent morbidity. |
