摘要
Traumatic spinal epidural hemorrhage is rare in adults and almost cever causes cord compression, except when associated with bleeding disorders or spinal dural arteriovenous malformation. We report a case of traumatic spinal epidural hematoma in a patient with osteoporotic T12 and L2 compression fracture due to fall from height. The patient presented with back pain and developed progressive paraplegia during observation. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is important in diagnosis and we treated him successfully with prompt surgical decompression. Complete neurological recovery was noted on first postoperative day. Because preoperative neurological status and rapidity of surgical intervention correlate with outcome, early diagnosis is critical for the prognosis.
