摘要 |
It was often the case in the past that contore restoration of a fronto-naso-orbital bony defect would be barely satisfactory. This was because of sophisticated spatial complexity and other factors such as difficulty in defining the defect border accurately and limited knowledge of the surrounding tissue architecture leading to strains during insertion. Here, a case is presented which details the development of a prefabricated implant developed from a three-dimensional CT of a complex cranial defect. There was no prostheses extrusion, infection, or inflammatory signs. The asethetic result was satifactory for both the patient and the surgeons during the three years of follow-up. This paper also reviews the advantages and disadvantages of commonly used cranioplasty materials. |
