摘要
Avulsion fracture of the lesser trochanter of the femur is rare. It occurs mostly in children and adolescents and is caused by a forceful contracture of the iliopsoas muscle that avulses the lesser trochanteric apophysis. A 12-year-old boy visited our surgical emergency department due to a paingul disability of the left groin which developed following rapid deceleration for directional change during sprinting. Physical examination showed that he maintained the left leg in an internal rotation flexion posture with a resulting limping gait. Radiograph of the left hip revealed an NSAIDS and immobilization. He could achieve full hip flexion without pain 3 weeks later. Follow-up radiograph 3 months later showed that the lesser trochanter had united in an upwardly displaced position, with no limitation in the range of motion of the left hip during sports activity.
