摘要 Hemangiopericytoma of the thigh in adults is a rare neoplasm that accounts for less than 2% of soft tissue sarcomas. We report a rare case of low-grade malignant hemangiopericytoma in a 53-year-old woman who presented an initial clinical picture as left thigh hematoma du to trauma. She developed mulitiple, distant metastasis of the lung and peritoneum and expired 2 months post-radiotherapy. Histopathological examinations of hemangiopericytoma revealed low-grade sarcoma. Malignant tumor cells revealed positive immunohistochemical staining for vimentin and negative for desmin, Actin, Cytokeratin, Factor VIII, and S-100 protein. Malignant hemagiopericytoma in adults should be considered in an important differential diagnosis for soft tissue sarcoma of the thigh. We present this case report with a review of the literature, to demonstrate the malignant character of this neoplasm and its variable prognosis.
