摘要
The incidence of calcified chronic subdural hematoma is rare. Most of them are found incidentally. The clinical presentation is variable, including seizure, mental retardation, gait disturbance and hemiparesis. Some cases are presented with asymptomatic courses. Computed tomography showed a large hyperdense subdural lesion with calcified rims. Significant mass effect with cortical atrophy was also identified. We present a case found incidentally with giant disturbance and acute confusion status. Under the impression of calcified chronic subdural hematoma, decompressive procedure was performed. We found that it was difficult to divide calcified capsule from cortical surface with sand-like content. Postoperatively there was not any neurological improvement in this patient. Several recent reports suggest that a surgical procedure maybe beneficial. Although in this the outcome was not favorable because it was difficult to divide the cortical surface from inner membrance of the hematoma, deem that surgical procedure was jutified.
