篇名	Radical Excision of Malignant Thymoma with Invasion of the Superior Vena Cava and Right Atrium: A Case Report

摘要	Thymic carcinoma with invasion into the superior vena cava and right artium has rarely been reported. We report on a 62 year-old woman who suffered from chronic cough, weight loss and dyspnea. Chest roentgenography, chest computed tomography (CT) and echocardiography revealed an anterior mediastinal mass about 5X7 cm invading the superior vena cava (SVC) and right atrium. During hospitalization, an episode of circulatory collapse during postural change occurred. Surgery was performed immediately due to the life-threatening intracardiac mass. En bloc excision of the tumor under cardiopulmonary bypass was done, including the intravascular and intracardiac portions. The defect in the SVC was repaired using fresh autologous pericardium. pathologie examination showed thymic carcinoma. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient was sent to the radiation oncology department for adjuvant radiotherapy. Follow-up echocardiography at six months revealed no residual intracardiac tumor.
