摘要
The clinical manifestation of prostate cancer may vary from asymptom to severe prostatism, while the presentation of rectal stenosisi is very rare. We reported two cases of prostate cancer in whom the presentation of defecation disorder was more evident than urinary complaints. Rectodigital examination disclosed firm, circumferential stenosis of the rectum mimicking rectal pathology. Fortunately, transrecal needle biopsy was done and revealed as adenocarcinoma of the prostate. They received palliative transurethral resection of extensive abdominorperineal combined resection. If a prostate cancer with rectal invasion is confirmed, the response to hormonal therapy is generally stisfactory. It must be aware that prostate cancer may masquerade as primary rectal cancer in old male patients. Intact rectal mucosa and long history of defecation disorder should arise the suspicion of a prostate cancer. Transrectal prostate biopsy and serum prostate specific antigen level provided accurate diagnosis.
