Ganglion cyst is a common tumor of the extremity including the hand or the wrist, but it is rarely located in the bone. The incidence of intraosseous ganglion is about 0.16% of primary bone rumors and the age distribution is varied from 14 to 86 years. In this paper, we report a 66-year-old male with left knee pain. A bone cyst was found in the left distal femur eventually. Several diseases are difficult to be distinguished from intraosseous ganglion by clinical and radiological appearances. They are Brown tumors associated with hyperparathyroidism, giant cell rumor, chondroblastoma, chronic abnormalities of the synovium, true synovial cyst, and osteroarthritic cysts. The radiologic features of intraosseous ganglion include an epiphyseal, eccuentric and subchondral location at the end of the long bone.Intraosseous ganglion cyst, although rare, presents with chronic pain of knee and should be inculded in the differential diagnosis. |
