摘要	Eleven patients with displaced transverse patellar fracutures were treated with cannulated screws and tension band wiring between October 1996 and December months). The fractures in ten out of eleven patients united within an average of 14 weeks. Complications occurred in on patient with delayed union due to separation of the lower pole of the patella, which eventually united 30 weeks after surgery. Subjective and functional results using Hospital for Special Surgery Knee Scores were comparable to previously published reports with 91% achieving an excellent or good outcome. In conclusion, the reported fixation technique offers less soft transverse patella fractures.
