Hepatic angiosaarcoma is an extremely rare but highly aggressive malignancy. We report a 58-year-old female patient with hepatic angiosarcoma whohad no identified exposure to known carcinogens. Sha has survived without evidence of recurrence for 14 months after complete surgical resection. A review of the literature revealed the majority of cases had an idiopathic etiology and nonspecific clinical presentations. In these cases, the disease progressed rapidly and death occurred within a few months. At present, transplantation and chemotherapy cannot improve prognosis. We emphasize the importance of complete surgical resection, which is currently the only effective therapy.
