摘要	The rapid expansion of indications for anticoagulant therapy in recent years suggests a need to consider the spinal epidural hematoma. We present a 29 year-old male with a history of coumadin therapy for deep vein thrombosis who developed exsanguinating lower back pain and progressive neurological deterioration. Under the emergent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a thoracolumbar junction spinal epidural hematoma was found. Laminectomy and evacuation of hematoma were performed. Several cases reported in the past literature are reviewed and the possible pathogenesis and treatment are also discussed.
