About the Journal
Formosan Journal of Surgery, launched in 1968, is the official peer-reviewed open access journal of Taiwan
Surgical Association and various surgical subspecialties of Taiwan. As an open access publication, it
permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant
institutional/subject-based repository.
The Journal is published bimonthly by Wolters Kluwer Medknow and is indexed in DOAJ, EMBASE/
Excerpta Medica, Emerging Sources Citation Index, SCOPUS, Baidu Scholar, CNKI (China National
Knowledge Infrastructure), EBSCO Publishing's Electronic Databases, Ex Libris – Primo Central, Google

The journal publishes articles in the fields of thoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, gastrointestinal
surgery, endocrine surgery, pediatrics surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedics and its related disciplines.
Formosan Journal of Surgery publishes original articles, review articles, case reports and letter to the editor
that are of exceptional and unique importance. Studies on state-of-the-art surgical innovations across the
entire spectrum of clinical and experimental surgery are particularly welcome.
The aim and significance of the journal is to provide a forum for the publication of research papers on all
aspects of surgery and the exchange of new medical knowledge.
